17th Sept - Telangana Vimochana Dinam

This is one of the memorable days in the history of telangana. It is like independence to Telangana State. This has to be celebrated in Telangana districts as a festival but very few people are aware of what 17th Sept. stands for in the history of Telangana. A Holiday has to be declared on this day as a mark of respect to many telanganites who laid their lives in getting Telangana. There are many villages in Telangana which has contributed a lot to separate Telangana. One such village is Bairanpally situated in Maddur Mandal of Warangal Dist. Almost 150 people laid down their lives fighting against Nizam's rule in a single day. There are many such villages in Telangana who have strived for separate Telangana.
